How to donate

Guests can make donations at any of the festival events. Look for the "hungry blue piggy bank" at each venue. 100 percent of all donations go to Ferndale Youth Assistance and the Michigan AIDS Coalition.

You can also send a donation in the mail to Ferndale Blues Festival, 429 Livernois, Ferndale, MI, 48220. Donations are tax-deductible.

Parking

Here's a map of available parking lots in downtown Ferndale.

The city of Ferndale is in the process of implementing a new multi-space metering system, along with new parking rates and enforcement times.

Some changes are expected to go into effect starting Jan. 28, however the pay stations may not be in full operation until Feb. 6. Check the Ferndale Park Plus and Ferndale DDA web sites for more details.

Rib Burn-Out

The sixth annual Blues Barbecue and Ribs Burn-Out on Saturday, Feb. 2, will feature up to 10 local restaurants and chefs competing for the best ribs.

Held in a heated tent in the library parking lot from 12-7 p.m., the rib burn-out features celebrity judges including Red Wings alumni and also includes live music. Get all the details here.

Is this a blues festival or a music festival? What's up with all the disco and the dj's? Are the dj's spinning blues tunes?

It's a blues *and* music festival now - last year's story talks a little bit about why they moved to include more types of music: http://patch.com/A-qpPV - hope that helps!
