When is the Next Detroit Zoo Volunteer Orientation?

Quit lion around! The zoo will host a volunteer orientation on Saturday, March 16.

Listen up, animal lovers!

The Detroit Zoo, which has approximately 1,100 volunteers working in seasonal and year-round positions, is looking for volunteers.

If you are wild about animals and people, consider attending an orientation session at the zoo on Mar. 16 to explore what it takes to be a docent, gallery guide, Ford Education Center assistant, Arctic Ring of Life guest assistant, zoo ambassador and more.

The minimum age to volunteer is 18. Some volunteer positions are seasonal; others are year-round. Please note, volunteers do not come in direct contact with animal residents.

Attending this exploratory meeting does not mean a commitment on your part. It's just a way to see and hear what volunteer positions are available and sign up for the proper training if you are willing to take the next step. Email volunteer@dzs.org  for more information.
