Memorial Day: What's Closed in Ferndale

From government offices to schools, here's a quick glance at what will have modified hours for Memorial Day.

 

It's Memorial Day, and while schools and offices are closed and the barbecues are fired up, you still may need to get out and around Ferndale. Here's what you need to know about what's open and closed.

City offices

  • City offices: Ferndale City Hall will be closed for the holiday on Monday.
  • Schools: Ferndale Public Schools and district offices will be closed on Monday.
  • Post office: The U.S. Post Office on Woodward will not be open Memorial Day, nor will there be any mail delivery or pickup. The Ferndale post office will reopen Tuesday for normal business hours, 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Trash collection: If your collection day falls on a holiday, set out refuse containers on the following workday. Read more on refuse collection in Ferndale here.
  • Emergency: Call 911 for police or fire emergencies. For any non-emergency, call the Police Department at 248-541-3650 or the Fire Department at 248-546-2510.

Naka will be open Saturday and Sunday for regular shopping hours (11-6 and 12-5, respectively), but will be closed on Monday.
