Vote Now: Patch Athlete of the Week, May 21-26

Vote for your favorite prep sports athlete in Oakland County or write in an athlete you think deserves recognition. You have until Friday at 9 p.m. to register your vote!

Vote here to help choose the Patch Athlete of the Week of Oakland County for the week ending May 26.

Last week, Lahser tennis player Mollie Fox won the Athlete of the Week poll to give Bloomfield Hills its second straight winner. Will there be a third this week?

Vote for one of the following or write in your own candidate in the comments:

Neal Krentz – Lahser High School (baseball): No pitcher was hotter the last week of the season than Bloomfield Hills Lahser’s Neal Krentz. In three appearances on the mound, he went 15 innings, striking out 17 batters, only allowing three walks and had an ERA of only 0.40. He did it against some strong competition; all three had 20 or more wins. At the plate he reached base with hits in all three games.

Taylor Morrissey – Berkley High School (Baseball): Berkley wrapped up its strong season with a 10-3 win over Groves on Tuesday and a 7-3 win over Lathrup on Monday. Morrissey was 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIS in the win against the Falcons. Against Lathrup, he was 2-for-4 with an RBI and three runs.

Lisa White  – Seaholm High School (soccer): Lisa White did it all season in net for the Seaholm varsity girls soccer team. In the Maples' regular season finale, she had 10 saves in a 4-0 win over Holly to pick up her sixth shutout of the season.

J.D. Hess – Seaholm High School (lacrosse): J.D. Hess was a key performer for the Birmingham United boys lacrosse team in the first round of the playoffs on Thursday to help his team advance with a 16-7 win over Saline. The senior had four goals and two assists.

Nicole Pollina – Troy High School (lacrosse): Nicole Pollina helped Troy advance to the regional semifinals on Wednesday in a 14-0 win over North Harrison with four goals and an assist. She had a hand in four of the Colts’ first five goals.
