Visions for Vacancies: What Business Would You Like to See Here?
This space at 250 W. Nine Mile Road was formerly a clothing store. What would you like to see move into this Downtown Ferndale storefront?
Ferndale has a great mix of businesses, but is there anything missing?
In today's Visions for Vacancies, we want to know what type of business you'd like to see at 250 West Nine Mile Road. It's the storefront between the recently-closed AJ's Cafe and May's Bangkok Express and is the former location of Thicke Madam Boutique.
Anyone interested in leasing or buying property in Downtown Ferndale can contact the Ferndale Downtown Development Authority for a list of available properties as well as business start-up resources and assistance.
What type of business would you like to see occupy this space?

Crafting store where you could purchase crafting supplies, participate in crafting classes for all ages and offer craft circles, guest artists from all genres. I already have the business plan but no financing.

Hey Beth,
What a wonderful idea! My name is Katie and work at the Ferndale Chamber. I think you should come to see a Service Core of Retired Executives (SCORE) Counselor a service through the Small Business Administration. Counselors meet at the Ferndale Chamber and it's free! They're great at talking through starting up a business and have great workshops from business plans to financing. You can call either the SCORE office 313-226-7947 or the Ferndale Chamber office at 248-542-2160 to set up an appointment. I think this a great idea. Please don't hesitate to give us a call.

I'd like to have a Scooter shop where Street Legal Customs use to be. I would sell electric scooters and gas scooters. Maybe even get Ferndale to have a 'free' scooter parking area to help keep parking traffic down.
