Forecasts call for between 2 and 4 inches of snow in Ferndale starting Thursday afternoon.
According to a hazardous weather outlook issued by the National Weather Service, a strengthening low pressure system will move into the southern Great Lakes region on Thursday, with the highest snow accumulations predicted along and north of M-59, which cuts through Rochester Hills.
The heaviest snow is expected Thursday evening, according to the weather statement.
The high temperature is predicted to be 33 degrees on Thursday.

getting tired of the "death by snow" predictions all the time - it's Michigan for cripes sake - also predicting in the 40's within a few days - no big deal,,
