UPDATE: Storm Damage in Ferndale

Did the storm knock a tree down? Take your power out? Blow away your tallest tomato plant? Let Ferndale Patch know.

Crystal Klepetsanis-Clark sent in a photo of a large branch that had fallen in her driveway on West Chesterfield. "It was blocking our driveway and part of the street," she said.

Ferndale Patch reader Kenneth McNabb sent in a photo from Silman Street, a 1/2 block east of Woodward. He said the fallen tree is covering about 3/4 of the street.

Rick and Sam Bernard sent in two photos of the damage in their back yard, at Allen, near Marshall. They said that a tree had fallen on their garage and hit part of their roof. "(The damage) looks minor but will be expensive," Rick and Sam Bernard sent in a text message.

Via Ferndale Patch's Facebook page, several readers are reporting fallen trees and downed power lines.

"Trapped in the house due to a downed power line, so I plan on straining Netflix instant streaming to the deepest depths of its potential," said Ferndale Patch Blogger Katy Oren.

Ferndale Patch reader Paul Levendoski reported a "huge dead branch down on Jewell," about a half block east of Hilton. He sent in a photo of the limb and said at about 6:20 p.m. the Department of Public Works were there to take the limb away.

Additionally, Ferndale Patch reader Steven Kachnowski said that a "huge tree fell on a car on Leroy near Republic."

According to the DTE Energy Outage map, there are only 11 customers without power in the 48220 zip code. And the 10 are spread out among the city.
