The Shamrock Shake is back – and as luck would have it, the McDonald's in Ferndale is one of the locations offering it.

According to McDonald's, the Shamrock Shake launched in the United States in 1970 and has built an almost cult-like following of fans who eagerly await the shake's return to the menu at select McDonald's restaurants each year.

The popular minty-vanilla milkshake usually makes its annual reappearance sometime before St. Patrick's Day, but not all locations carry it. But Ferndale residents are in luck – the McDonald's location at 22525 Woodward Ave. has the shakes on its menu for the next several weeks.

The Ferndale location is selling the thick and minty treats for $1.99 for a small, $2.49 for a medium and $2.99 for a large.
