Ferndale High School and the Ferndale Rotary Club hosted a springtime prom fashion show Saturday night.

While students worked behind the scenes managing lighting, music and timing of the show, other teens walked the runway modeling the latest trends in high school proms.

The fashion show, in the Ferndale High School auditorium, also included popular hairstyles, makeup designs, flowers, jewelry and more.

Assistant Principal Lisa Williams said she was impressed with how the students put together the event almost entirely on their own, including seeking donations.

Designer Resale Boutique provided the clothes and accessories for the models, flowers and floral arrangements were provided by Blumz by JRDesigns, and hair styling and makeup were provided by Dye Hair Salon.

Amy Keely, owner of Designer Resale Boutique, said she was glad to help with the event.

"I did this because kids like to run business, as I did as a kid, so this is another way for me to mentor them and offer them different experiences as they begin to make life choices," she said.

It was an amazing event, the tux's were by Blumz by JRDesigns along with all the corsages and bout. and the boys looked MAG, the girls had the most beautiful dresses I have ever seen. They all walked the runway like they were professionals. Great job kids and the adults that supported. Also, a big thanks goes out to Shriner Silver Gardens, Treat Dreams, Peteets Famous Cheese Cakes, Grab and Go Sushi and Garden Fresh Gourmet for a wonderful VIP dinner.

Congratulations to the students who worked so tirelessly for this amazing event! They are grateful for the support of the parents and FHS staff who were there for them. Our local businesses who participated know that it "takes a village", so let's support them! Looking forward to next year's prom fashion show!

I had the fantastic opportunity to be apart of not only hosting this fashion show but being involved with marketing. I would like to thank all of our sponsors along with everybody who has been apart of our very first ever prom fashion show. We have learned how to run a business and we are sure that next year's fashion show will be BIGGER & BETTER! Thanks to everybody who helped with this amazing show! Thanks Ferndale Patch and Jessica for covering our event! We appreciate it!
