The annual Ferndale Blues and Music Festival wraps up tonight after nine days full of a wide range of musical acts and events.

Earlier today, hundreds of people crowded in and around a 4,000-square-foot heated tent in the parking lot behind Dino's for the Rockin' Blues BBQ Rib Burn Off, where local businesses and community members competed in a rib tasting with live music offered inside the tent.

The winner for the rib tasting was Servpro of Ferndale/Oak Park.

"It's going fantastic," said Bob Perye, of The Rogue Estate, on Saturday afternoon as he prepared ribs for his team, the Pork Kings, which also involved The Hungry Dudes. The Pork Kings team took home the "Rookie Team of the Year" trophy at the fifth annual event.

Amy Plunkey, of Royal Oak, stopped by the tent with her three kids to visit her husband - who was cooking ribs as part of the Marty O'Neil State Farm Agency team.

"I think it's great," she said of the event.

Rusty Martin, a resident of Sterilng Heights, said he looks forward to the Rib Burn Off every year.

"I come every year. It's just a good time, ribs are great, good music," he said.

Though the festival officially ends Saturday night, there's one more day of the Blues Brunch, which is offered at The Emory from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
