Locals kick off the weekend by enjoying two bands at the Ferndale Public Library.

Bands Urban Prairie and Capital Street Basement Musicians played for a small but appreciative crowd of about 20 people at the Ferndale Public Library on Friday night as part of the library's First Stop Friday events.
The shows are organized by Kelly Bennett, a circulation specialist at the library. All shows are free and open to the public.
First Stop Friday happens the first Friday of each month at library. The next First Stop Friday is scheduled for Nov. 4, with doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the 7-9 p.m.
