The Ferndale City Council will convene at 7:30 p.m. on Monday evening at City Hall to hold a regular meeting. Here's a preview of a selection of agenda items the council is expected to discuss. For a full agenda, click here.
- The Ferndale Community Foundation will present its grant awards, and Peggy Snow of the Ferndale Beautification Commission will present the group's June 2012 Beautification Awards.
- A public hearing will be held on the annual citywide sidewalk replacement program. Residents whose sidewalk squares are included in the program were sent letters earlier this month detailing the project. The 2012 district includes the area from W. Eight Mile to W. Nine Mile, Pinecrest to Republic.
- Council members will consider an amendment to the Elster Amco Water Inc. agreement, which began in 2009 for the purchase and installation of new water meters with radio-read capability to replace the entire city’s water meter system.
- Council will review the contract between the city of Ferndale and AFSCME Local 3120 (DPW Yard), which is set to expire on June 30. A tentative agreement was ratified by the AFSCME unit on June 21 and is up for council's review.
