The 2nd Annual Live Green Fair in downtown Ferndale brought over 80 vendors and a large crowd to West Nine Mile Road on Friday night. The fair, which is open Saturday from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m., offers natural food products, dancing, massage, psychic readings, vegan cupcakes, art, home products and services, and much more.

I think maybe next year we should re-think the deep fried chicken and fries truck and the fat fried elephant ears wagon. Or at least some tape that says "green ends here."

I agree. “Chicken-on-a-stick” from a carnival vendor that most likely gets the majority of their ingredients from the cheapest and least sustainable industrial food corporation does not exactly represent living green.

Yeah. We seem to have a "compare to designer brand prices" craptastic table at every festival and art fair. I don't know how they get the prime real estate every time like that. Center field, right in the middle of the street. I guess the fair has to make a certain amount back in order to go next year. Hopefully when it becomes a little more profitable, the imported slave labor plastic wares folks will be excused and replaced with something worthy of Ferndale's reputation.

I went the first day on Friday...there was very LITTLE and not much to do. I agree with the above comments. The food I highly doubt was sticking to the GREEN theme of the fair. As well as maybe make the fair bigger...And more buisnesses get involved. It was little compared to what I thought it would be. Hopefully it will be better next year! :)
