It's a Live Music and Art Fair Kind of A Weekend

This is what you should be doing this weekend in Ferndale.

1. Mason Jennings at the Magic Bag

Where/when: Magic Bag, 8 p.m. Saturday
Why go: Because you love American pop-folk music and you love this guy.

2. DIY Street Fair

Where/when: East Troy and Woodward Avenue, 5 p.m.-midnight, Friday; noon-midnight, Saturday; noon-11 p.m., Sunday

It's three days of live music, food and art. Why not?

3. Funky Ferndale Art Fair

Where/when: West Nine Mile, 4-8 p.m., Friday; 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday; noon-5 p.m. Sunday.
Why go:
To buy some art.

4. 14-Year-Old Wows Crowds with Vocal/Guitar Talent

Where/when: The Rust Belt Market, 11:15 a.m. Saturday
Why go:
It's good to see young kids getting involved in music.

5. Painting with a Twist 1 Year Anniversary Celebration

Where/when: Painting with a Twist, 7-10 p.m. Friday
Why go:
Painting with a Twist is celebrating its one-year anniversary tonight. There will be lots of giveaways including a grand prize for five free classes to one attendee.
