'Heaven on Earth': Students Travel to Livonia for Senior Prom

Purple and silver balloons decorated the Walnut Room at Laurel Manor in Livonia on Friday after parents and teachers from University High School spent the day setting up for the senior prom themed "Heaven on Earth."
The 7 p.m. start time proved too early for University HIgh's seniors, with the most punctual couples arriving around 7:45pm. The Ferndale students shared the building with four other proms, making the hallways crowded with teens sporting colorful dresses and ties.
Friday was also that last day of school for University High seniors. Underclassmen continue attending class through June 17.
