Ferndale Tax Assessment Appointments Available This Week
Appointments available Tuesday and Wednesday at Ferndale City Hall.
The following information was provided by the City of Ferndale:
Attention Residents: Oakland County Equalization will be conducting an Assessor's Review this week. For an appointment to discuss your tax assessment, please call: 248-858-0773.
Remaining Assessor Review dates and times are:
- Tuesday, February 5: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Wednesday, February 6: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Assessor's review will be held at Ferndale City Hall.

Big trouble coming for the City of Ferndale budget. Parts of the city are grossly under assessed this year, and this is going to blow a hole in the City budget.
Houses in the area of E. Marshall and Woodward dropped more than 20% in assessed value for 2013. There must be an error, because this does not reflect actual market values which are rising.
I went up to City Hall to alert them about low assessments, but the clerk at the counter wasn't interested. I tried. Whatever.

I have heard that assessments are always a year behind the market value. I remember people complaining when the market was going down and their assessments were still going up.
