Ferndale SOUP Micro-Grant Dinner Gains Steam
The monthly dinner offering a boost to local non-profits has its next event planned for Feb. 17, Hometownlife.com reports.
The monthly dinner in Ferndale that lets guests choose which non-profit to support is back after a hiatus and is planning its next dinner for Feb. 17, according to a recent article at Hometownlife.com.
Ferndale SOUP is a monthly dinner where guests listen to three people pitch a project idea that will benefit the Ferndale area. Attendees vote for their favorite project, and the winner is awarded a microgrant — based on the total collected from the $5 admission price — to give the idea a boost.
The program was on hiatus for a while, according to the article, but held a dinner last month and has another one planned for 6:30-8 p.m. Feb. 17.
Last month's microgrant winner was the Ferndale Boy Scouts, Didorosi told Hometownlife.com. "They basically said that they didn't have the budget to buy some new tents for their outings. They won them over with charm," he said in the article. Read the full article here.
