Ferndale Meadery Expands with Second Location

B. Nektar Meadery recently expanded in Ferndale with a second production facility and is now looking to add more weekend hours and additional staff.

The meadery, located at 1505 Jarvis, Suite B in Ferndale, opened in 2008. Mead - also called "honey wine" - is the alcoholic beverage produced by fermenting a solution of honey and water.

The business recently opened a second production facility on Wordsworth Street in Ferndale with a tap and tasting room, according to a story at metromodemedia.com. It also is hiring new staff to accommodate the increased hours and is planning a spring festival on April 20 at the Jarvis Street location.
