A team of staff members from Ferndale High School won 3-2 in an hourlong dodgeball showdown against Ferndale Police at a charity game on Thursday.

The teams played best of five games – the high school staff won 3-2, but agreed to a sixth game it they also won. The school team was led by soon-to-retire FHS Principal Herb Ivory and the police team was led by Police Chief Tim Collins.

Special guest referee Jimmy King of the Michigan Fab Five and the NBA officiated along with retired FHS teacher John Bassier and 43rd District Court Judge Chuck Goedert.

The event benefits the Eagles Pledge, a small group of parents, community members and administrators with the initiative to provide or facilitate financial resources and support services to help graduates of FHS pursue their dream of a post-secondary education.
