Deer Spotted in Ferndale

Ferndale Police Lt. Detective William Wilson says reports of deer in Ferndale happen a couple times a year.

Pleasant Ridge has coyotes. Ferndale has deer.

Ferndale Patch reader Kirsten Buys snapped us this picture this morning of two deer in a backyard on University, between Paxton and Hilton.

Ferndale Police Lt. Detective William Wilson said that deer are spotted in Ferndale a couple of times a year.

"As long as it isn't hazardous we just let them be," he said.

This is the one downside to having a privacy fence. I'd lay out apples for these kids if they could get into my yard!

Saw pictures of a deer in Geary Park on Pinecrest last Saturday morning taken by Jeff at the Senior/Rec Center ----- I understand there is a small herd at Oakview Cemetery in RO but wonder where these are from......possibly 8 and Pinecrest wooded area? Hope they stay safe and don't pose a hazard to vehicles.

There was one on Woodside last saturday at 5p.m. Then right after our grad party there was one at the end of the street.

Yes, just today June 9th. There they were, casually walking down Ardmore from Hilton to Paxton around noon.
They were beautiful to look at. What a thrill.
