Dino's Lounge in Ferndale hosted an intimate fundraising concert Thursday with Mac McAnally for the Wounded Warrior Project.

This was the third year McAnally, who plays with Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band and has written some of the performer's songs, has headlined the benefit.

"It's a party with a purpose," said David Williams, who helped organize the event.

An estimated $40,000 has been raised from the concerts for the charity, which supports injured members of the military returning from active duty and helps them heal both "physically and mentally," according to the Wounded Warrior Project website.

"It's not every day that a small bar like mine gets a chance to have a five-time Country Music Award winner to come and play in such a small venue," said Dino's Lounge owner Dean Bach.

After the show, it was time for McAnally to prepare for the concert Saturday with Jimmy Buffett at Comerica Park.
