Before and After: Labor Day Weekend Storm Damage Pictures from Leroy and Beaufield
The Sept. 3 storm hit the corner of Leroy and Beaufield particularly hard. Here are a few before-and-after shots.
Nearly three weeks ago, a storm with winds clocked at 70 mph blasted through the area, knocking down dozens of trees and even more branches, pulling down electrical poles and cutting the power to thousands of Ferndale residents.
The cleanup effort continued long after DTE restored power to the last of its customers who suffered storm-related outages.
The damage has been estimated at around $100,000, and to help recoup the costs, Ferndale Mayor Dave Coulter declared the city in the state of emergency. As much as $30,000 in state emergency funds may be available to Ferndale if approved.
Damage from the Sept. 3 storm is still visible, albeit much, much tidier.
