1. Ferndale City Council meets Monday
Ferndale City Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Ferndale City Hall. Included on the agenda is a public hearing for a redevelopment liquor license for Drakes Ferndale, and a resolution opposing the sale and use of "synthetic marijuana" in the city of Ferndale and asking the Michigan Legislature to ban its sale and possession statewide. 2. Ferndale Marching Band fundraiser at Howe's Bayou
Come out and support the Ferndale High School Marching Band at Howe's Bayou on Tuesday. Just mention to your server or bartender that you are there for the dining night out fundraiser, and 25 percent of your dinner and drinks bill will go to the award-winning marching band. 3. Coffee hour hosted at Ferndale Library
State Senator Vincent Gregory (D-Southfield) and State Rep. Ellen Cogen Lipton (D-Huntington Woods) are hosting a "coffee and conversation" hour at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Ferndale Public Library. No registration is necessary.
4. Ferndale Pride begins Thursday
The second annual Ferndale Pride weekend is coming up June 14-17, and organizers say the event is expected to draw at least 5,000 people to the city for a variety of gay pride activities including marches, rallies and a street festival. Read more about Ferndale Pride here.
