You're running out of time!
Nov. 28 is the last day to rake leaves to the curb so that Ferndale's Department of Public Works can suck them up with its leaf truck.
If you miss the Nov. 28 deadline, DPW Director Byron says you can put the leaves in yard waste bags and put the bags on the curb.
As for the leaves on the curb, Photiades offers some advice to make the process smoother: Don't park on the leaves!
"We can't pick them up if cars are parked on them," he said.
Additionally, Ferndale Fire Chief Kevin Sullivan says that parking cars on the leaf piles could result in a fire due to the heat of the engine and the dryness of the leaves.
Another reminder, Photiades has, is to make sure the leaves are a foot away from the curb to maintain proper drainage.
