Fair Farm Bill Campaign Kick Off Tonight at the Library

Food & Water Watch, an organization that the website says works to ensure the food, water and fish we consume is safe, accessible and sustainably produced, is holding a Fair Farm Bill campaign kick off at the Ferndale Public Library tonight at 7 p.m.

"Our country’s food system is broken. A few large companies, like Cargill and Monsanto, control every part of our food system, squeezing consumers and driving out small and mid-sized farmers," a release from Food & Water Watch stated.

The meeting will kick of the campaign to make sure the USDA implements the 2008 Fair Farm Rules, which, according to Food & Water Watch, level the playing field for small and mid-sized farmers that give consumers access to safer, more sustainable food.

Head up to the library to learn about the Fair Farm Bill campaign and how you can help.

Will try and make it. This is as important or even more than, issues like debt reduction and unemployment.

If I lose everything and I can't even plant a garden to feed my family without it being genetically god-knows-what, none of the rest will even matter.
